Natural resources & conservation services NAICS Code: 115 -- Support Activities for Agriculture and Forestry/115310 -- Support Activities for Forestry The USDA Forest Service, Grand Mesa-Uncompahgre-Gunnison NF, requests proposals for the Lockhart II Stewardship project. The award will be an Integrated Resource Service Contract (IRSC) with a term of five years. The solicitation and any resultant IRSC is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. This is a commercial item acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. All future information about this acquisition will be distributed solely through this site (www.fbo.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Respondents are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov to be eligible for award. This solicitation is a full and open competition; all responsible sources may submit a response to this announcement which will be considered by the Government. The proposed contract will include a mix of timber removal and service work (see Schedule of Items for details). The Lockhart II Stewardship contract area is located approximately 30 air miles west of Montrose in Montrose County, Colorado on the Ouray Ranger District. The legal location for the harvest units is T. 49N., R. 14W. Sections 27, 28, 29, 32, 33 and 34 and T. 48N., R. 14W. Sections 5 and 6, New Mexico Principal Meridian, Montrose County, Colorado. Timber volume included in this project is approximately 9,433 CCF (hundred cubic feet) of live and dead saw-timber and POL; see B.2 Timber/Product Removal Price Schedule for additional detail. Required service work will involve thinning of non-commercial trees and treatment of surface fuels as shown in the schedule. No pre-bid site visit is planned for this contract.
