The USDA, Forest Service, Southwestern Regional Office (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma) issues this Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research for information and planning purposes to determine the level of interest from qualified firms that are capable of providing mapping and surveying services for a contemplated IDIQ Mapping Services Contract. The primary services and products a qualified firm would provide are for aerial photography (film and digital) acquisition, surveying, aero-triangulation of aerial photography, and photogrammetric products. Surveying and mapping services are required to support the US Forest Service Southwestern Region which include but are not limited to support the administration, planning, design, and construction of engineering and recreation projects. These services include photogrammetric mapping requiring acquisition of film and/or digital aerial photography, aero-triangulation, stereo mapping compilation, orthophotography, land use/land cover interpretation, creation of horizontal and vertical control networks, boundary surveys, topographic mapping using total stations or GPS; detailed planimetric surveys; profile, and cross section surveys. Geographic Information System (GIS) services required under this contract may include the creation, implementation, transformation, manipulation of spatial data supporting the management of ESRI Geodatabases. Firms shall be fully capable of furnishing survey and mapping data directly readable to AutoCAD®, AutoCAD Civil 3D®, ESRI®, and ERDAS® products. Firms should be familiar and be able to provide AutoCAD deliverables compliant with the latest version of the National CAD Standards. Proximity to the Regional Office in Albuquerque is a necessity for emergency response time within a twenty-four hour period. Respondents are requested to submit a listing of aerial photography, mapping, and surveying resources, mapping and surveying experience in the southwest US, preferably in mountainous-forested lands, a Technical Capabilities Statement, and any additional information that pertains to the subject outlined in the RFI. This information will be used to determine the appropriate business size set-aside criteria. This RFI is subject to the provisions of FAR 52.215 3 and is issued solely for information and planning purposes. This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment to issue an RFP. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to pay for any information, or otherwise reimburse responders for any costs associated with their respective submissions in response to this RFI. Any response will be treated as information only and shall not be used as a proposal.
