Maintenance, repair & rebuilding of equipment NAICS Code: 811 -- Repair and Maintenance/811219 -- Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance Notice of Intent to Sole Source Synopsis: The U.S. Food & Drug Administration intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Steris Corporation for a service maintenance agreement for a Steris AMSCO Eagle 3017 Ethylene Oxide Gas Sterilization System. The vendor must provide the following: - Inspection of the sterilizer on a quarterly basis - Perform any necessary repairs - Repairs and inspection must be performed by service staff that have experience with the equipment as the sterilization is accomplished by using a highly toxic gas (ethylene oxide) that is flammable and carcinogenic with potential to damage multiple organs. Period of Performance: The period of performance shall be one (1) year from the date of award and include an additional four (4) one year option years for maintenance. Award will be made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements using Simplified Acquisition Procedures per FAR Part 13. Steris Corporation is the sole-source factory authorized supplier of parts and services for the Steris AMSCO Eagle 3017 Ethylene Oxide Sterilizer. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement within five (5) days after the publication of this synopsis, June 29, 2014, which shall be considered by the agency. Responses received after 5 days or without the required information may not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete as a result of information received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
